The location is extraordinary, which is why my wife and I have stayed here many times over the past 2 years. The rooms are comfortable, but the property needs updating. We’ve had bathroom drains back up, a room with no heat, and rusty bathroom fixtures. Most of the staff are friendly and helpful, though the women at the front desk are stoic. We’re thinking we may need to find somewhere else in the Finger Lakes region next time.

The room showed a lack of general upkeep. We booked the deluxe suite for a weekend shopping trip, but the heater was broken and its service panel had been left open, like someone had been working on it. The hot tub had an open panel too, with wires exposed, so we didn’t use it. The laminate flooring was coming apart and caught on our socks as we walked around. There was only conditioner and lotion in the bathroom, so bring your own toiletries. We do that anyway, so it wasn’t a major issue. I’ll book somewhere else next time I’m in town.

My fiancé has been staying there during the workweek for the past few weeks, and the water’s always cold, even with the tap turned all the way to hot. After working outside in the cold, he’d like a warm shower and room, but the heat doesn’t seem to work when it’s cold. They moved him to another room, and that one had no working heat either. The toilets leak all over the bathroom, and there aren’t any trash cans. I really don’t recommend it.

This was my 3rd stay, and the room was fine with no issues. The staff are great, and the bartender really knows their stuff. The problem was how cold it got in the common areas. The lobby seemed colder than outside, and we went to the bar for the live entertainment but had to leave early because we were freezing. Bring a coat if you’re going to the restaurant.
