We slept well and liked being between Sandpoint and Ponderay, and the staff were helpful. The building and rooms are kept up, though the decor and architecture feel dated. It’s a budget place with prices to match. Breakfast was pretty basic, but my wife and I usually look for local breakfast spots when we travel. Our weekend was fine, and we’d stay again for a couples getaway.

Liz was a saint about sorting out the booking after I messed it up, and went well beyond what she had to do. As a professional house cleaner, I’m hard to impress on cleanliness, but these rooms were cleaner than any hotel I’ve stayed in. The price and service impressed me too. I know this place has some older negative reviews, but Liz and the staff I met were amazing. It’s central, and I’d say give it a try.

It was quiet, comfortable, and a great deal. The rooms were clean and nice, and the breakfast boxes were great. Service was good too. There is a little old cigarette smell in the hallways, but we’d definitely stay here again.

The room, hotel, and staff were nice, but the trains kept waking me up. Starting around 10:00 Thursday night and continuing until morning, one came by about every hour blowing its horn.

Victoria at the front desk was terrific. I borrowed a screwdriver, and she even came back after her shift to help me. The place is Best Value, so it isn’t Best Western, but it offers good value and all the essentials. The pool was out of service, which was disappointing, though we hadn’t planned to use it. It might be wise to call ahead and check.
