Days Inn by Wyndham Geneva/Finger Lakes

We needed a room for one night near a wedding we were invited to. The location was pretty good, but the shower didn’t drain at all, so we stood in inches of dirty bathwater. The room’s A/C and heat didn’t work because the thermostat was completely blank. The sacrifices might not be worth it.

These rooms smell bad, really musty, and the whole place feels kind of gross. The smoke detector was hanging out of the ceiling. Paying almost $300 a night for this is kind of ridiculous.

I checked in Aug 30 and was told to park on the side nearest my room. It was dark and sketchy back there, so I chose the other side where there was more activity and it felt less isolated. The lot backs up to what looked like an empty field, which turned out to be a little league field. At 830am, I found my car window smashed and the ENTIRE CONTENTS OF MY CAR gone. I’d been moving and had boxes in there. They even took a childhood picture of my friend who passed away, something I can NEVER GET BACK. As I cleaned up the glass, I found a barely visible road beside the lot leading to the Little League field. I followed a break in the bushes that IS NOT ON CAMERA and found remnants of my stolen things. So any old soul can walk into that back lot and straight into the hotel through the back door, which wasn’t secure and needed no key even at 11pm. The security cameras strategically do NOT cover about 7-8 spaces in the back lot, or that route through the bushes. The only saving grace was that staff reviewed camera footage with the police and me, gave me extra time to collect myself and get out of my room, and provided garbage bags and gloves so I could clean up as much glass as possible.

The continental breakfast was excellent, and the place was very clean with great service. We enjoyed our stay and will definitely come back.
