Hilton Garden Inn Lexington Georgetown

We come here every year for the 4H sale and plan to be back next year. The room had been rushed through before check-in and wasn’t cleaned very well, but Tonya, who I assume is the head housekeeper, went out of her way to fix things. She apologized and gave us complimentary drinks and snacks. The only other difficulty was communicating with the woman who came to clean, since she spoke and understood very little English.

A clean, welcoming hotel that feels quieter because it sits a little off I75. There are several restaurants nearby, too. One drawback is breakfast at $10 per person, which felt a bit expensive.

The gym was open, at least, as the front desk girl pointed out. The pool, though, had apparently been closed for quite a while, and she sounded tired of people asking about it. She even directed guests to another hotel. Hilton should get the pool fixed. There’s a nice outdoor seating area with what looks like an old gas fire pit, but the front desk lady said it wasn’t one and that fires aren’t allowed. In our room, one towel had a spot on it and the bathroom floor looked like it had been missed when mopping.

We ended up staying for two months while waiting for our house to be finished, and it worked out fine for an extended stay. Breakfast was pretty good with a few choices, and the staff were super friendly. It’s an average, typical hotel, with nothing bad or especially memorable. I’d stick with their franchise wherever I go and would recommend this place.
