1863 Inn of Gettysburg

It felt homey here, and the staff were so polite and friendly. The breakfast was delicious, well stocked, and served in a clean space with a nice atmosphere. Our room was spacious, clean, and had everything we needed. We'll be back soon, thank you 😊

We could walk to just about everything, and there are lots of shops if you head right out of the hotel. Jenny wade and the visitor center are next door, where you can catch the bus tour, which was well worth it. Jenny wade and the orphanage also sell tickets. Across the street there's tasty ice cream and o’rourks restaurant. For onion soup and other dishes, try Dobbins tavern. They have fine dining upstairs too, though it's pricey. One thing I wouldn't recommend is the Gettysburg app they suggest downloading for $25. It had you driving while looking at your phone, so we gave up and took the bus tour instead. Parking and breakfast are free. Our room was roomy, the bed and pillows comfy, and I was glad there was no carpet because I hate it. The shower got hot and had good pressure. We asked for a spot somewhat near the car because of my husband's knees, and they sorted that out. There's a fridge in the room, while the microwave is in the lobby. The outdoor pool was closed, so we didn't use it. Mandy checked us in with a big smile and gave us loads of useful information. Every employee we met was friendly. Breakfast was a 10 out of 10, and I recommend the place to everyone. This is one of the nicest hotels we've stayed at in a long time.

We were on the fourth floor and had a nice view from the room. The rates were very affordable, and breakfast had a good range of complimentary options. A comfortable room and friendly staff made this a very nice place to stay.

That morning breakfast is a big plus in Gettysburg, where finding a table elsewhere at 9 can be really tough. The hotel has the charm of a privately owned place, and I've genuinely enjoyed staying here. Staff are always friendly and quick to respond when I've asked for something, and the loyalty program is top notch. I've been coming to the 1863 Inn for over ten years, first with my family and, for the past several years, on my own. Every visit has been fantastic, and I expect I'll be back for at least another decade.
