Comfort Inn Gilroy

We’ve stayed here twice. Both times the room was clean, the bed was comfortable, and there were five pillows. The modern bathroom had excellent lighting and really good shower pressure. The ice machine worked, and they even provided plates and cutlery for the food we picked up at the supermarket.

The floors left my socks filthy, and there was someone else’s hair stuck to the shower walls. The shower curtain and blankets were stained, too. My daughter also couldn’t get any juice at breakfast because there wasn’t any. The room was dirty. I don’t recommend it.

We paid for a two bedroom and were initially given a one-bed room. We had to ask them to switch us, which they did, though the staff weren’t very friendly. The room was nice, but the mattresses were so hard it felt like sleeping on the floor. If a good night’s rest is what you’re after, these beds aren’t even decent.

We didn’t feel safe here with our children. There were homeless people walking around, so lock your car and don’t leave anything inside. Service was nowhere near what I’d expect from Holiday Inn. When we arrived, the sliding doors were locked and nobody was at the front desk. I had to go in through a side door and ring for help, then wait about five minutes. The check-in employee spoke very little English and didn’t understand when I said I’d prepaid, so he charged me for a night again. I showed him the prepayment, but he still didn’t understand, and I let it go. At checkout there was again nobody at the desk, so I rang and waited another five minutes or so. The employee didn’t want to give me a receipt until I asked, and I had to dispute the room charge again. “Ray” said the refund would come in three business days, but my card was still charged. Now I have to dispute the charges with the credit card company. Be careful, you could be charged twice.
