Pacheco Pass Motel

We broke down in Gilroy, California, so we had little choice but to stay. The staff were nice, but our room was dirty, the TV didn’t work, and they had to come replace the box. We were in room 14 on May 9th, and the people next door partied until 3 a.m., so we got no sleep. I paid $91 for one night at what felt like a tweaker motel, plus a $70 deposit that still hasn’t come back after two weeks. Nobody answers the phone. It seems they keep people’s deposits. My mistake was not paying cash. This is a nasty little motel that rips off its owners. DO NOT STAY HERE! And when I tried to post this to warn others, I had to click something nice. Ridiculous!

The room had only a sheet on the bed, and the fire alarm in the next room chirped every 20 seconds. The neighborhood felt sketchy. We’d planned to stay the night, but this motel was awful.

The curtain was coming loose, so I had to fix it myself, and there were dead cockroaches all over. The beds are advertised as queens, but they’re full size.
