Hampton Inn Youngstown-North

We slept well in a roomy space with firm, comfortable beds. When the neighbors got rowdy, we asked to move and the request was approved. We really appreciated how kindly the staff handled it. Thanks for helping us get a good night’s sleep.

About two hours after I headed west on I-80, the same gentleman who had checked me in called to say I’d left my laptop behind. I wouldn’t have realized until much later. He arranged everything with UPS, packed it carefully, and shipped it that afternoon. It arrived safely and works perfectly. That kind of care and follow-through means a lot. The stay itself was very good too: a clean room, friendly check-in, fair price, and a convenient place to stop on a cross-country drive. He was just as polite when I saw him the next morning, maybe even more so. I drive this route a few times a year, and Hampton Inn Youngstown–North is now going to be a regular stop. I don’t know his name, but if you see this, thank you. I hope to stop in again and thank you in person. 🙏

I rarely leave reviews, but I think people should know what happened. At check-in, I explained I was staying only one night, and they said they would remove the second night’s charge. They told me to speak with the manager, but I never managed to meet him, and he didn’t seem able to return a phone call. I called later and provided the information they had asked for. Even though they knew more than 24 hours ahead that I wouldn’t be staying a second night, they refused to reimburse me. Hiram dodged me for days. Their Google response shouldn’t be taken as evidence that they’re responsive. Check the business and bathroom ratings too; there’s a reason for the dissatisfaction. I found them dishonest. I’d avoid staying here.

The staff were friendly, and this was a useful place to stop while getting out of a snowstorm. The room was older but mostly clean. There wasn’t any body soap in the shower dispenser, and the door didn’t seal well, so hallway noise came through and light got in at night. Given what we needed, it wasn’t a bad stop.
