Best Western Plus Glen Allen Inn

The room seemed clean and was really inexpensive, and without the possibility of bedbugs it would have been a great deal. My wife woke up with a strange rash or bite. I can’t say for sure it came from a bedbug, but it looks like the pictures I found online, so I’m attaching a photo for people to judge for themselves. We were put in an ADA room we didn’t need. The floor was extremely slippery, almost as if soap or cleaner hadn’t been rinsed off, and I could easily have fallen. There were also no barriers along the bed to stop things sliding underneath it. Around 9 a.m., the housekeepers were talking to each other so loudly they were nearly shouting.

The front desk service was exceptional, and the room was clean with a comfortable bed. I booked it as a backup in case the power went out at home so I could get schoolwork done, but the internet kept going out for five hours straight. The TV had apps for Netflix and YouTube, but someone at the desk said Comcast hadn’t finished setting it up, so only basic cable worked. Getting ice or snacks was a hassle too. The machines are on the first floor, all the way down the hall, so I nearly gave up and went without.

We stayed one night with our two small dogs while our house was being treated for bugs. BW let us check in early, at 10:00 AM, for just a small fee. It’s near Walmart, Lowes, Target, other shopping, and several restaurants. There was also a grassy spot behind the pool where we could walk the dogs. The room looked a little dated, with old paint and carpet threads pulled up in several places, but it was clean, and the staff were friendly. We’d booked a room with a kitchen and assumed it would have dishes, silverware, glasses, and pots and pans. None were there. We didn’t need to cook and didn’t ask the front desk about it, though. We’d stay again.

Best Western Glen Allen Inn is the BEST! They treat you like family, and they’re pet friendly. I stay here for mini vacations to binge Hallmark movies, when there are repairs at home, or when my back hurts and stairs are too much. Kaylee and Bo are young, capable people who take charge and get things done. Kaylee’s customer service is especially impressive, and she always seems to have what you need. She’s even encouraged me to drink more water. Stop by and see her decorating, and she might have cookies for you too! I know a lot of the staff by name and love them all. Special love to Kaylee and Bo, and I’ve missed you, Bo! David, Sonia, Meet, Rein, Keith, everyone else, including housekeeping, thank you for running such a great place. You matter here.
