Candlewood Suites Richmond North Glen Allen by IHG

The location worked well for what I needed, and the value was excellent. The suite was spacious and comfortable, with a well-equipped kitchenette, and everything was very clean. Staff were helpful and friendly from the moment I checked in until I left. I had a wonderful stay at Candlewood Suites and would definitely return.

The staff were attentive and polite, and I liked having a kitchenette. My room was clean and comfortable. A couple of little things could be better, but overall I had a great stay at Candlewood Suites and would recommend it and come back.

The service was pretty good. I only stayed one night and decided not to raise any of the problems, but when I needed ice and my suite’s ice maker wasn’t working, a staff member got some from an unsold suite. That was great service. The room clearly hadn’t been turned over properly. The dishwasher hadn’t been emptied, and there was stuff on both the floor and desk. There were dead leaves and other unidentifiable debris near the lobby elevator, and the elevator was slow. Candlewood Suites in Richmond may not be the worst choice nearby, and I’m glad I paid a little more than I would for some worse places, but I can’t rate it highly. Next time I’m in the area, I’ll probably look for somewhere a bit higher end.

I wouldn’t recommend this hotel. The mattress made it hard to get a restful night, and noise from neighboring rooms kept disturbing me. At 9 a.m., the maid knocked on my door multiple times even though checkout wasn’t until 11. She didn’t speak English. I told her I didn’t need service, but she still tried to come in. I called the front desk, and all they said was that this was standard procedure. I questioned why checkout was at 11 if guests were going to be disturbed at 9.
