They have no breakfast, and the customer service wasn't great. I might have looked rough after an unpleasant encounter with a man during my 100-yard walk to the Wawa across the street, so I don't blame the hotel staff if that affected things. My husband and I found this place because everywhere else in Richmond and nearby was full that weekend. Check-in was fine, and we went straight to sleep. I wasn't sure of checkout time since the hotel was unfamiliar and we'd gone to bed late; I assumed 10 or 11. About 20 minutes after checkout, an older woman knocked to ask if I knew the time. I apologized, propped the door open to show I was leaving, and said I'd go right away. I'd have paid a fee, and would have preferred that to someone seeming irritated, as if I were an inconvenience in their home. I took our things to the front and sat on the sofa while arranging an Uber. I hadn't done my hair or makeup and had jeans with holes in the knees. A woman came to the desk and asked how she could help; I said I was fine and waiting for my ride. She then asked if I'd stayed at the hotel, which felt insulting, as if she thought I'd wandered in to use the sofa. When she asked what room I'd been in, I pointed to it and told her. I could see the humor in it, but she still seemed unconvinced, or perhaps just unhappy that I was sitting there. I said I'd wait outside instead. Proving I'd been a guest wasn't worth making a stand over. At least their safety measures must be good: there probably won't be intruders. For that, 10/10.

It's just a room, and somewhat clean. Bring your own blankets and pillows: the bedding and linens aren't adequate, there are barely any toiletries, and there's no free breakfast. There was hardly any staff, and the people who were around didn't seem interested in helping. There was parking for only about half the cars that needed spaces. Don't follow Google Maps; the driveway entrance is on Brooks only, and it's poorly lit. The lower mattress did have bedbug bags for protection.

I paid $200 for this dump. It's old and worn, there was no coffee pot in the room, and someone had left food in the fridge. The bathroom was gross. This is somewhere to sleep one night and then get the heck out. I unfortunately believed the fake reviews on hotels.com. Ugh.

The chicken from the grilled chicken restaurant, possibly Peruvian, was perfect both times we ordered, and there are businesses nearby. The hotel stay was awful, though. There was no food in the lobby or decaf coffee, and our room wasn't ready when we arrived at 3 p.m. We had nowhere to store our bags so we could go to the bar down the street. The night guy thought we were smoking in the lobby, but we were only waiting for our Uber Eats order. Customer service sucked. My advice is to let this place go out of business. That attitude is what I expect from foreigners, not people with hospitality and love, but hate for Americans. Drive past the Days Inn and find a hotel closer to the businesses instead of the attractions. Thank you.

The couch next to the bedroom had roaches. A young guy who smelled bad had put my wife and me in that room. I asked to move and the next room was even worse, so we left and paid more for a better hotel. There was no refund. Just a disgusting place. Wait until I call the city.
