Hyatt Place Glendale / Los Angeles

We were offered an upgrade as Hyatt status members and welcomed warmly. The room was very clean and well maintained, and the staff were extremely friendly. It's an easy walk to Glendale Galleria and Americana at the Brand, with good Thai restaurants right next door. There are also secured public garages close by. Orange Street Parking Structure, around the corner, charges $9 for 24 hours. The big problem was noise. We could hear people in the next room talking and playing music from midnight until 3 am, along with loud cars and mufflers on the street. Starting around 7 am, people passing by and nearby doors slamming kept waking us. We barely slept, so despite liking nearly everything else, I wouldn't recommend it for light sleepers.

The location was a real plus, close to downtown Glendale, the Galleria, and Porto’s Bakery. Porto’s is great for pastries or an easy meal. Coffee and tea are available in the lobby around the clock. Our first room was on the second floor by the fitness center, and treadmill pounding woke us at 5 AM. The walls are thin, and hallway doors were easy to hear too. We told the staff, and since another room was available they moved us to a different floor, which helped a lot. They also gave us breakfast and bottled water to make up for the trouble. The team were friendly and responsive from check-in through checkout. Breakfast has eggs, sausage, waffles, yogurt, fruit, several kinds of milk including oat and chocolate, bagels, bread, cereal, and oatmeal. The bread didn't seem very fresh, and for $11 I'd skip it and go to Porto’s instead. Noise can depend on where your room is, but the convenient location and excellent staff still make this a solid option.

I spent 43 nights here, from 1/16/25 to 3/6/25, and the front desk team were wonderful. Steven and Isabella were especially helpful, and they never made me feel like I was being a bother. Jun was great with customer service too. I only wish the restaurant had gluten-free choices. I didn't use housekeeping, so I can't speak to that service, but staff brought sheets, towels, and other things when I asked, which was great. There was a laundry room on my floor with one washer and one dryer. Paying with coins was a bit inconvenient, and I hope cards or Apple Pay become an option. I loved the place overall. My one real issue was how loudly the room doors shut when other guests let them slam. I'm a very light sleeper, so headphones may be needed. If a door closing now and then doesn't bother you, this is a good spot. The valet crew were all great too. Steven, Jun, and Isabella deserve raises as well. I'll miss you all!

I booked this for my grandparents, and every staff member was kind, attentive, and accommodating. Knowing they were being looked after so well gave me real peace of mind. The rooms were spacious, and the hotel was impeccably clean. I'm very grateful for all the help and would book here again. Five out of five.
