Residence Inn by Marriott Milwaukee North/Glendale

The room is nice enough, and parking was easy, though there was quite a bit of highway noise. I was short on closet hangers, the desk outlet hardware was loose, and I think the TV remote needs a new battery. The bathroom smelled a bit like cigarettes or weed. Someone who seemed mentally unstable threatened me in the lobby while I was getting coffee this morning. I told the front desk, but didn’t feel I needed to call the police. I’ll avoid the cafe area for the rest of the week, lol. That incident wasn’t the hotel’s fault.

I’ve been here twice, and cleanliness was a problem both times. On my first visit, surfaces looked like they’d been wiped with a dirty towel, leaving residue. The door latch screws were stripped and loose, and the TV remote had dried food on it. There was something splattered across the lobby TV, too. The second visit was for a business meeting. We rented just the conference room for $200, but the tables were dirty and nothing was ready when we arrived. We also had to pay extra to use the projector, which took them 30 minutes to find. Given the dirty room and the wait, I felt it should have been included, or at least free. This didn’t feel very customer focused.

The room is beautiful and the location is convenient, but I’ve been here two weeks and housekeeping has cleaned it only once. More than once, the front desk clerk said they’d clean it the next day, and then it didn’t happen. This is unacceptable, and no one is taking my concern seriously.

This is the most run down Residence inn I’ve stayed at, and it badly needs maintenance. The dishwasher beeped loudly every couple of minutes. Maintenance came, but their solution was to cut its power. Luckily, I didn’t need the kitchen on this trip. The lamp by the bed had exposed bulbs with no cover, the toilet paper holder was broken, and the sink was missing some parts. I also saw a bug on the door.
