Hotel Xilo Glendale

I was in Room 119 on my second visit to this hotel. Most of the staff have been friendly, and I’ve recommended the place to a lot of people before, but I won’t anymore after what happened on March 29, 2026, at 5:30 PM. The petite female employee wearing glasses was on duty and spoke to me rudely. I wanted to sit across from her and ask a few questions about my stay and a future reservation, but she shooed me away. It was a complete surprise, and I think it’s normal and appropriate to sit at the desk to ask questions while someone is working. Later I went into the lobby to make coffee. She was talking with another young woman, and I apparently interrupted them. She asked several times if I needed anything, even though she could see I was making coffee. I left, then came back thinking I might be able to get the information I needed, but I didn’t expect to be treated that way. It’s a shame when a hotel loses guests because of staff incompetence. I don’t speak English very well, so I couldn’t even explain to her how unpleasant it had been.

The pictures don’t reflect the hotel’s current condition. My non-smoking room smelled like a smoking room, and I had to switch rooms because the AC wasn’t working. The walls are thin enough that other guests sound like they’re right next door. The bed was somewhat comfortable, but the pillows were very uncomfortable.

A couple of strangers walked into my room while I was naked on the bed right after a shower. I’d shut the door and curtains, and suddenly the door opened. At reception, the extremely rude attendant just said it was a mistake. I told him how dangerous that was, especially with valuables in the room and the possibility of the same thing happening while I was away, but he got irritated and told me to contact Booking.com or the police if I wanted. He wouldn’t change my room or refund me, even though I planned to move hotels. There was no room cleaning on the first day either. Don’t stay here. It’s terrible.

The staff were stand-up people, the location is great, and the rooms were clean. I had all the amenities I need to feel at home. Highly recommend!!!
