Best Western Route 66 Glendora Inn

There was plenty of parking, and the room and bathroom were both more spacious than I’m used to at hotels. The staff were especially friendly and easy to deal with when we stayed the night before Thanksgiving. Breakfast was disappointing and not the usual BW spread I know, and the bed felt hard as a rock.

The service here was terrible. Nobody seemed friendly, helpful, or understanding, and the many extra fees made the place feel like it was looking for easy money. Signs around the hotel warn of charges for using a luggage cart, leaving it in the hallway, or taking it into your room. Those seem like basic conveniences a hotel should offer as part of decent service. We were told the hotel was pet friendly, but nobody mentioned the $25-per-pet fee. We had two dogs, so that came to $50. We went back to pick them up, meaning they were in the room for only four hours in total, and still got charged the full pet fee. I’ve never had another pet-friendly hotel charge us like that. Absolutely unacceptable. Stay away.

At 7:20 am, all the hot breakfast food was gone, and no one seemed to check or refill it unless a guest pointed out that everything was empty. The eggs were frozen, processed, and plasticky. I wasn’t excited about having a microwaved breakfast, but there was nothing else to choose from. Bad service.

The staff were truly amazing, and the location is fabulous for us because it’s close to our kids and new granddaughter. We only managed one night this time because of an appointment and our schedule, but this will be our place to stay from now on. As Best Western members, we were able to upgrade to a fantastic suite for an extra $7. I highly recommend this location.
