The Queensbury Hotel

It’s a historical building, so keep that in mind. The rooms are small, but cozy and clean. There’s no fridge or microwave in the rooms. If you’re over 5'7", you’ll have to duck to get your head wet in the shower, which isn’t made for tall people.

The lobby had a fireplace going while a gentleman played Christmas carols and other music on the baby grand piano, and breakfast the next morning was excellent. The hotel is a little dated, though not in a bad way, with small rooms and narrow hallways, but it was very clean. A lot was going on the night we stayed, and the bar felt chaotic. Drinks were a little pricey, and there wasn’t a clear place to order from. In my opinion, patrons shouldn’t have to shout over people sitting at the bar to place an order. I’d 100% recommend staying here and look forward to my next visit.

The restaurant is a real standout. Whether I eat there or order room service, the food is excellent and easily among the better options in the area. It’s convenient to have a high quality meal without leaving the hotel. I stay at The Queensbury Hotel often for business, including within the last month, and it’s been a reliable, enjoyable experience every time. The vintage style and historic charm give it a different feel from the usual business hotels nearby, which is a big reason I keep coming back. It isn’t a modern, tech heavy chain. The place is always clean and well cared for, and the staff are professional and friendly. Many know me by name now, which says a lot about their consistency and focus on service. Rates are very reasonable, often on par with or even lower than nearby national chains, and the overall experience, service, and atmosphere make it great value. The standard rooms are quite small and traditional, basically a bed and compact bathroom, so I book a suite whenever I can. Suites give you much more room and comfort while still fitting the hotel’s classic feel. One thing to know: it can get somewhat noisy at night because of the heavy antique wooden hallway doors. Keeping those historic details is part of the appeal, but you do hear doors closing more than at newer properties. I highly recommend The Queensbury Hotel for anyone traveling to the Glens Falls area. It’s clean and comfortable, with classic charm and staff who care about the guest experience. It’s become my preferred hotel in the region, and I look forward to coming back.

The guest rooms are modern, sophisticated, and welcoming, with very comfortable beds and upscale bathrooms. The Queensbury Hotel is a gem right in the heart of a small city like Glens Falls. Walking in, you feel both the grandeur and the small city charm. That feeling is strongest during the holidays, when the lobby is decorated with a huge Christmas tree, a life-sized gingerbread house, the Grinch on a bicycle, nutcrackers, lights, and plenty more. Several nights a week, a pianist plays the grand piano in the lobby. Grab a drink from Fenimore's and settle in to enjoy the music. The restaurants have windows overlooking City Park, a nice spot for watching life go by. The food is very good without being pretentious, and in summer you can eat on the patio. In winter, the heated plastic igloos offer a unique private dining experience. The staff go out of their way to make the stay as wonderful as possible. Whether you're visiting Glens Falls from afar, coming to an event and want a nice dinner, or just want to pamper yourself for a few hours in your hometown, make a visit to the Queensbury Hotel an experience. You'll be glad you did!
