The room and bed were comfortable, and the sheets, towels, and washcloths were clean. Breakfast was good, with a tidy area, and both the owners and staff were really nice. That said, there was dust on the chairs, a dirty mirror, and the bathroom tiles needed a better cleaning. It wasn't a bad stay, and the owners seem to care, but they could use more help.

The hotel has had some upgrades, but it's still a long way from being good. The hallways and room smelled bad, the indoor pool area was over 90 degrees, and breakfast had very few choices. Front desk staff looked poorly groomed and were dressed very shabbily.

The room was disgusting, with stained furniture, a thick layer of dust on the table, and no shower curtain. After we showered, the floor was soaked. My wife and I decided not to stay there again and didn't complain at the time. Later, they accused us of taking the missing curtain and charged us $50. I told the front desk attendant it hadn't been in the room when we arrived, but he called me a liar and said they check rooms before each new guest. Why would I take a shower curtain? Gross. Friends suggested I report it to the BBB of MN, and I'm making my first report there. Earlier that evening, I was put on hold by the front desk twice for more than 30 minutes. I offered to hold off on a negative review if a manager or owner would respond and contact me. No luck. Stay away, they're crooks.

The bed and pillows were comfortable, the linens were clean, and the shared areas were in good shape. The innkeeper was friendly, and a remodel is underway. My room still needed basic maintenance and a deep clean. Breakfast could use a protein choice beyond milk and peanut butter, maybe hard-boiled eggs. I stayed 8/26/17, and $79 plus tax felt steep. If the rooms get the same work as the common areas, that price may feel fair in the future.
