The balcony was our favorite part. Even without the ocean view some pictures seemed to show, sitting outside in the sea breeze and watching the sunset sky colors made the trip. There were really good places to eat nearby. We especially enjoyed Crabbers and Sea Dog brewery, and Super Scoops became a family favorite for dessert. The building is in a good spot, a walkable distance from the beach, though it's not right on the beach. The pool and hot tub were clean. The pool furniture was dirty but usable, and there were floaties and toys for the family. The unit itself needed updates and a deep clean. It felt like an abandoned apartment or a pet owner's place that hadn't been cleaned for years, then turned into a rental. There were patched but unpainted holes, a dirty stovetop, spilled water inside the fridge, and a filthy coffee maker. Some utensils were dirty and others were in bad shape. The sliding doors didn't lock, the main bedroom bed slanted, and its shower didn't drain properly. On our first day, we returned from the pool and found three or four men in our apartment. A housekeeper had let them in to work on the WiFi, but nobody told us, and the front desk hadn't been informed either. A man who said he maintained the building acted like it was normal to be there with our belongings around. When I tried to understand what was happening, he got combative and raised his voice. It took a while to figure it out. I had to drive to Sunset Villas to get someone to come with me to Crystal Palms and sort things out. Latanda at the front desk, sorry if I'm spelling her name wrong, and Michael, Property maintenance at sunset, were both very kind. Latanda advocated for a one night refund for the inconvenience, and Michael helped us work out who had let people in and why. I couldn't stop shaking that day. Afterward, we barricaded our doors with things each night. The following day, someone parked in our spot, and we couldn't find them to get it back.

The balcony views were fantastic, and the room was clean with a nice amount of space. The pool and spa looked clean and in good shape, but it was too cold to swim. Still, this was my worst hotel stay. There was nobody to check us in at the hotel, just a note telling us to drive about a quarter mile down the road to another address. After we came back, the one working elevator was malfunctioning and incredibly slow. The other was completely out of service. The buttons were wired to a detached panel sitting in something that looked like a mailbox bucket, and a note said to be patient because the elevator was very slow. It took forever to arrive and move. The room was very outdated. Every bifold closet door was partly off its track and took effort to open or close. The TV was a nightmare to work out, with only a few terrible channels. The bedroom and living room blinds didn't work at all. I called the morning after arriving to have them fixed, but nobody came during the stay. Is there no maintenance person? So many broken things just seemed to be left as they were. The bedroom dresser was so old its drawers wouldn't stay shut, and one sometimes hit my leg as I walked by. The stovetop was disgusting, as if someone had cooked cheese directly on it for hours. I tried scrubbing it, but couldn't remove it. When I went to turn on the balcony lights, both fixtures were missing, with exposed wires in the wall boxes. Some light bulbs were burned out or missing, so I had to move bulbs around. Worst stay ever.

We paid for the views and a six-week stay, but for nearly two weeks we couldn’t use the balcony at all. Workers had to pass through our unit to install scaffolding, then the balcony furniture was taken away and plastic covered the windows and doors during the washing and painting. The views were completely blocked, and at times we felt stuck inside. Our son and daughter-in-law also couldn’t enjoy the space when they visited. Construction carried on around the property for the rest of our stay. The noise, dust, and safety issues often made the pool and nearby areas unusable. We weren’t given clear information beforehand. The day before we arrived, we got a vague note about a building “facelift” and possible activity, then learned about the balcony work only after we’d been there a few days. This was our second year booking through Kurt/Oasis Getaways. We were told the unit would be an upgrade and that earlier building problems had been taken care of. The location is great, but the stay wasn’t what we were told to expect or what we paid for. Kurt stopped replying once we were there, and didn’t get back to us until we were home. There was no apology, only an explanation that he wasn’t responsible, even though he was involved with the property. We wouldn’t book with Oasis Getaways again.

The location is great, with a walking entrance to the beach, a really nice pool, and spacious balconies facing the ocean and pool. The neighborhood felt safe, and there’s a full fridge and some kitchen items if you want to eat in. A few practical things: check-in is down the street, and there are no signs to point you there. Get the Wi-Fi code at check-in or you’ll need to call for it. The mattress is just barely okay, and the floors need cleaning. The shades are semi-transparent, so light from other hotels comes in. Bring an eye mask if you need the room dark.

The room was a good size, but the dishes were dirty and things were falling apart. Our family of four didn’t get any room service during our five-day stay, not even pickup or clean towels. Treasure Island has plenty of other options, so we won’t be back. The building was under construction, and we weren’t told until after the booking went through. On arrival the lobby was empty, with no staff at all. A paper taped to the door said we had to drive to another property to check in, and we were made to feel like an inconvenience. We could hear construction all day and smell paint while trying to enjoy the pool.
