Hotel Arthur by OYO Glenwood Hwy 34

The room was fairly clean when I got in, especially for the price. I'd read the reviews and had some doubts, but most of the bad ones were from a year ago. The front desk guy was really polite and helpful. I'd recommend this place to anyone.

We ended up leaving and finding somewhere else to stay, which was frustrating and upsetting. We'd already paid for the room through an online reservation, but the owner wouldn't honor it and said we had to pay again at the desk to get access. We checked with the travel agency, and they confirmed the payment had been sent.

After a three-hour drive, we had to go find another hotel with an available room. The owner wouldn't honor our Price Line reservation, saying they hadn't paid him, even though we called Price Line and verified that payment had gone through. It made for the worst Valentines Day experience. He is a scammer. I'd give zero stars if I could.

We've stayed here three times in the last four years because we have family nearby and the location is convenient. This June 2025 visit was just odd, and a letdown compared with the earlier stays, even though the owner and staff were the same. The lobby was so hot and humid it felt like the AC had deliberately been left off, and that damp feeling followed us into the room. Everything seemed moist, and the room felt unclean. The bed was comfortable enough, and the first night was quiet. On the second, noise from the hall and people talking in their rooms kept interrupting my deep sleep. Breakfast was scant, so we skipped it. The grounds were very unkempt and the parking lot was a mess, though that doesn't necessarily reflect the stay itself. No hard feelings toward the owner or family, but we probably wouldn't stay there again.
