The extra $175 property fee wasn't disclosed before we booked, which added to an already frustrating stay. The walls and ceilings are so thin that we heard every conversation and footstep. On the first night, the people next door hung around the parking lot laughing until after 11. The next night they smoked and talked loudly on their patio. Their conversation carried right into our unit, along with the cigarette smell. The property replied quickly when I complained and said they'd remind them about quiet hours and the no-smoking rule, but the noise went on for a couple more hours. Our unit had plenty of space for four, but sharing one bathroom was inconvenient, and there wasn't enough hot water for one full shower. The ceiling fans had only one setting, and the room air conditioners worked inconsistently. If you care about getting sleep, choose somewhere else.

Really lovely, clean beach. Cape Ann inn and long beach suites are both close by, and I'd definitely stop here again next time I'm in Gloucester.

A nice beach for families, though reaching it takes a bit of walking. There's no parking right on the beach, but private parking with bathrooms is about a block away. For a quick drop-off, you can pull into a dead-end area at the start of the beach and turn around there.

I went on a cloudy Monday morning in search of surf and got at least a little of it. There was a point break near some rocks, plus plenty of beach break, though I think I only got a small taste of what the place can offer once the swell picks up. I hope to come back for that. The beach itself is great, with soft sand and not many rocks. It's long, but from what I could tell, parking was only at the far end by the motel. The water felt refreshing, not too cold, at about 67 degrees in early August. Lifeguards were stationed along the beach, and there's lots of room for kids.

Love this beach. Parking is $20 for the whole day, and the restrooms are right where you leave your car. They close at 7 p.m. There's also an outdoor shower for rinsing sand off the kids before they get back in the car, plus picnic tables. I'd skip eating on the beach because the seagulls will come looking for food. On the side by the private beach and parking, there aren't any ramps. If you're bringing lots of stuff in a wagon, you'll have to drag it through the sand or carry it down the stairs. I don't know what's available at the other end.
