Ponderosa Motel

The room is good for the price, breakfast is included, the staff pay attention, and there's no drama. The people here have been reasonable and genuinely helpful, from the manager to the employees. I'm in a difficult transition and staying week to week, and when my paycheck came up short I asked how many nights I could afford for a certain amount. The front desk worked out that it would be under what I asked about, then checked if I could get by. When I said yes, she immediately took $10 dollars off per night. That makes a huge difference for me right now. I'm grateful for this place and its staff. Thank you!!!

We only stayed because the other hotel had no vacancy. The beds were stiff and hard, there was no bathroom fan, and there weren't any room phones to call the front desk. Our first room labeled non-smoking smelled strongly of smoke. The hair dryer was already half melted, with its handle taped together, and it threw sparks as soon as I switched it on.

7/2025 The FREE breakfast was delicious, with scrambled eggs, hot red potatoes with green peppers and spices, and sausage patties. There were waffles, cereal, milk, juice, coffee, yogurt, apples, breads, and maybe something else I'm forgetting. There's an ice machine beside the breakfast area too. The woman at the counter was nice and got us checked in quickly, and the place was very clean. Our bed was comfortable, and the area was quiet with not much around. I took a star off for the door latch: its plate had just one screw, so the closed door could be pushed inward about an inch to an inch and a half. There was a second latch above it, though. It was worth driving the extra 13-15 minutes off the highway to stay here. Check out the pics.

It's an older hotel, but the price felt worthwhile. The rooms are spacious and the beds comfortable, and the staff were really friendly. We appreciated the good breakfast too. Thanks for having such good staff. We'll be back.
