MT Madison Motel

We had a good two night stay, with a clean, spacious room and comfortable beds. Our room had been painted and updated recently, as have many others. There's a heated pool and hot tub, though we didn't use them. They don't serve breakfast. The motel is in the town center at a busy intersection, so there's some traffic noise, but getting in and out is easy. All in all, we enjoyed our stay.

Nancy at the front desk was enormously helpful. She even told us before we booked that the colors weren't great this year. The drive up is glorious regardless of the foliage. The place was easy to find in the dark, which is a real plus in this part of the state. Clean, friendly, affordable, and good for hiking and conversation. Real people, not servants.

It's a standard road hotel in a great area, with a convenient location, but definitely not a luxury property. The room was reasonably clean and the beds were comfortable. Still, the materials felt cheap, from the hollow doors to the low grade carpet, and the amenities were simple. The doors weren't plumb and daylight showed around them. There were dead bugs in the light fixtures, lots of road noise, and no food service. Room doors open to the outside.

The pool and hot tub were really nice, and the staff were friendly and accommodating. Our room was very clean. It was a perfect base between Santa's Village and Story Land. We enjoyed the stay and plan to come back next year.
