Best Western Inn

I usually choose Hilton hotels for the points, but this Best Western cost a lot less and had better ratings than the Hilton in Goshen, so I gave it a try. I was glad I did. The front desk got me checked in quickly, and the lobby was bright and in good shape. My room was clean, comfortable, and smelled nice. The bed felt very firm at first, but I slept well. There were six square pillows, and two together gave me just the right amount of support. The sheets were soft, the towels were plentiful, and the shower had enough hot water and pressure to rinse my hair. I’ve had trouble with that in hotels costing over $300 a night. A hair dryer, iron, and full-size ironing board were there too. I skipped the continental breakfast since I prefer eggs and toast. This reminded me of the budget hotels I used to enjoy 30 or 40 years ago, before that kind of stay became hard to find. This Best Western stands out.

I appreciated the note explaining that his dad built the hotel and his son owns it now. Everyone we dealt with was nice, and the economical breakfast did the job. The place is dated, but the beds were comfortable and it was quiet enough that I slept through the trains. Our room looked clean, although the bathroom floor was a bit dirty, not the worst I've seen. And I loved the mini fridge with a freezer section. I could refreeze my ice pack, which made me wonder why every hotel doesn't have one. I'd stay again.

We've been coming here for 10 years and have usually had clean rooms and great service, but this visit left me very disappointed. We stayed three days. I asked for extra towels and didn't get them. I also asked to have the sheets changed and the bed made, but that wasn't done either. The floor was never swept.

They let semi trucks park here, which was a plus for me as an RV hauler, and the company has a discount for haulers too. There's a really good Mexican restaurant within walking distance. Staff were friendly and helpful, and having unlimited free soda and coffee in the office was amazing, especially since vending machine drinks at hotels can get expensive. I stayed three nights, and slept like a baby even though I usually can't manage a regular hotel mattress because of my back and hips. The bed wasn't anything fancy. This is one of the best hotels I've stayed at in years. I'd give more than five stars if I could, and I'll come back when I get a few days off.
