Econo Lodge Calhoun

The owners are good people who take pride in the place and care about their guests. That's a big part of why I keep coming back to this Econo Lodge. I've stayed here around two years, and it continues to earn my loyalty. I spend over 300 nights a year traveling, so I leave quickly if a hotel lets its standards slide. The rooms are comfortable and well kept, and the place is clean and quiet. I also appreciate the dependable laundry, the big updated TVs in every room, and the recently upgraded mini-fridges and microwaves. Ciao, Tony

Truck parking is available in the side lot. You back in from the street, and there seemed to be room for about six trucks. You can turn around there too if nobody else is parked in the lot. It's well lit, with cameras all over, including that side area. The room was clean and had plenty of towels and extra toilet paper. No strange smells, the bed and linens were clean, and I slept like a baby after checking in. The couch was comfortable, too, not saggy or bent. It's not a high-end place, but it was nice. Enjoy your stay!

No coffee maker in the room, but they had coffee in the lobby in the morning with tiny honey buns and cold cereal. The room, bed, and linens were decent. Good enough for a stop to shower, watch TV, and get some sleep.

I didn't feel safe here as a woman traveling alone. Construction workers by the pool were making comments and gestures about the women coming and going. The highway and construction also made it very noisy, and the walls were so thin I could hear everything. Check-in went fine, but my door stuck and I needed the clerk to help me get in. Once inside, the bed looked like someone had been sitting on it. When I left with my things, I noticed the floor mat outside the door had been moved and a room key was underneath it. I was out more than $70 for the room.
