The GM was kind enough to remove the broken pipe we found, and said he'd try to get us another room the next night, but we were too uncomfortable to stay and luckily found somewhere else. Within half an hour of checking in, I had spotted at least 20 cockroaches and a broken pipe that looked like it may have been used for drugs. The floor and area behind the TV stand were filthy as well. I stayed here about three years ago and it was clean, great, and seemed well cared for. Now I wouldn't recommend it to anyone.

The price is incredibly low, and the staff are great. The owner is really nice and can help with the rate if you're staying more than one night.

If there had been another hotel in Calhoun under $100, we wouldn't have stayed here. The GMs were helpful and very nice when we needed them, but the room was in terrible shape. The bedding and sheets were stained, the pillows looked slept on, and one pillowcase was especially bad. There was food and dead bugs under the chair cushion, and moldy-looking marks on the bathroom door. The toilet was nasty until a kind cleaning woman came to clean it for us. The shower had weak pressure and the water never got properly hot. There was no bath mat, and the towels and washcloths were rough. The TV needed someone to come fix it, and the small fridge/freezer was badly iced up with dark, dirty-looking ice. Our flights arrived three hours late, then the weather delayed our luggage another two hours. I was sick and exhausted and needed sleep before driving to Columbus, GA. I would never go back.

The website photos are misleading. Both beds had stained bedding with burn holes through all three layers, and the two replacement sets we asked for were stained too. The bathroom was dirty, with empty toiletry containers still there, so it clearly hadn't been cleaned or even checked. The pool was a murky brown-green with debris floating in it. Don't stay here. Paying more is worth the peace of mind.
