Comfort Inn Goshen

The front desk people were nice, the rooms were clean, and even the computer worked. The parking lot could use some work. Breakfast was good, though I was looking for a few things I usually see at a Comfort Inn. They have an indoor pool and two-person whirlpools in some rooms.

The heat worked, and that's the only reason this gets one star. The lobby floor was filthy the whole time, the bathroom tiles were loose, and the toilet seat wasn't attached properly. I asked the front desk for a screwdriver so I could fix it. They said they'd send someone, but no one came, so I fixed it myself. I also fixed the blinds. Someone was smoking pot on the third floor, and we left a day early. After getting home, it took three days to reach the hotel to ask about a credit for that night. The line was always busy, or the other number they gave me just hung up automatically. Customer service was pathetic. They gave me a case number, but I don't expect a call back. This place is hurting Comfort Inn's reputation, and you've lost me as a customer wherever I travel.

My friend and I only stayed one night, though we had booked two. We arrived after a long day of travel and a drive from Chicago, and the rooms we were shown were disgusting. Bugs came out of her sink. The next room had bed bugs. While we were on FaceTime, a man checked out of room 324, across from mine, because of bed bugs. Her next option, room 307, had cockroaches. She didn't try another room, and we stayed in mine because we were exhausted, though we shouldn't have. My room was the less filthy one, and I still have photos. We checked out early and asked twice to speak to the manager and get reimbursed, but nobody contacted us. Room 307 had already been reported for cockroaches, yet they put my friend there. I first posted this in September and have kept trying to get a refund since then, as has my friend. I contacted Choice Hotels repeatedly, tried the hotel several times, contacted the BBB, and asked my credit card company for reimbursement. All they say is that we didn't cancel within 24 hours, as if we were supposed to cancel before leaving because of filthy conditions, cockroaches, and bed bugs. I also complained to Choice Hotels health and emailed the general manager, with no response. I plan to complain to the IN health department and have posted or will post negative reviews on TripAdvisor, Google, and anywhere else I can. I believe photos are attached to my original complaint with Choice Hotels. When I checked out, I took a picture of all the complaints. This was the worst hotel experience I've had, and the customer service was just as bad.

My kids' dad took them there overnight to enjoy the pool and other things. They nearly came home with bedbugs. We had to put all their stuff through a hot wash because of one bug. Absolutely disgusting. Please treat your rooms.
