Nutt House Hotel

We had a fantastic bathroom and enjoyed the view from our balcony. Dinner downstairs at Kristina’s was great, and later we ordered dessert and coffee through room service. The whole stay was wonderful, a perfect Valentine's and birthday celebration. We'll definitely come back.

I’m extremely disappointed and wouldn’t recommend this place. There’s no dedicated parking, so I had to haul all my luggage from three blocks away. If I’d known before booking, I would have gone elsewhere. The noise is awful, even with the in-room noise-canceling device. They say the doors are soundproof, but there’s a two-inch gap underneath, and they regularly provide earplugs. I’d arranged ahead for a mini fridge to store medication, but it doesn’t work. Now I’m trying to figure out what to do with $3,000 worth of necessary medication. Too late, I learned a relative had stayed here several months ago and left in the middle of the night because of the noise. I wish I’d known this was the same hotel. I absolutely won’t return.

The shower was our one small disappointment. Every few minutes the pressure dropped, then as it came back the temperature went down and up too. The shower was spacious enough to step aside while the water cooled, so it didn’t spoil the experience, but it did make showering take longer. We loved the peaceful shared balcony, with its unusual view of the square and comfortable patio furniture. The common area was thoughtfully stocked with coffee and tea choices, filtered water, plenty of cups and glasses, and a shared mini fridge. There were a couple of other useful surprises in a drawer. The post-fire renovations clearly involved a lot of care. The decor and amenities were done well, and we felt welcome and comfortable. Downstairs, the staff and the food and drinks at Christina’s American Table were amazing. We shared a delicious dinner there, and enjoyed the quiet, almost private brunch for hotel guests on Saturday and Sunday, an hour before public opening.

Dinner at Christina’s was a real highlight. Everything from the appetizers through dessert tasted fantastic, and the drinks were impressive too. The espresso martini might be the best I’ve ever had. We found the Nutt House Hotel charming, with its historic feel and spot right on the Granbury square. The staff made the stay especially nice. Everyone we met was warm, attentive, and thoughtful, with excellent service. It’s a lovely choice for a romantic getaway or a restful weekend. Between the hotel, the food and drinks, and the service, we had a great time and can’t wait to return.
