Quality Inn Grand Blanc - Flint South

We were kicked out after a woman complained several times while we were in the pool with her kids. We were playing Marco Polo and got yelled at for splashing. She said we were getting water on her and her things. The rooms were terrible too, smelled like pot, and the bathtub was stained.

The prices are good, but the rooms and common areas need updating. My latest stay was in a first-floor King Bed room with a few problems. The bathroom heat lamps weren’t working. When I asked for new bulbs, I was told the manager didn’t want any replaced. Luckily, the young man at the front desk helped by taking a working lamp from another room. Then the microwave wouldn’t open after heating my food. Staff broke the front to retrieve it and replaced the unit with an old, dirty one that did work. All of that ended up tripping the circuit breaker, leaving our room without electricity for over an hour.

The only decent thing was the pool. We were leaving as soon as possible in the morning and would’ve slept in my car if we hadn’t gotten a ride here. We’d been staying at a very nice, top notch hotel in the same parking lot, with two Queen beds and a much bigger TV, while my oldest boy was in the hospital for two weeks. That hotel was booked that Saturday because of a large wedding, so we ended up here. I took photos. The rooms and bathrooms are tiny, and the TV is super small. The beds are shown with four pillows each, but there were only three little travel size pillows. My wall was dirty, wallpaper was peeling in several places, there were holes above the shower, and there was no bathroom vent fan. The smoke alarm was dangling from the ceiling. I asked for early check-in but waited over an hour for the room. There was only one employee per shift. The clerk said they didn’t have authority to honor the cancellation policy and that the manager said not to bother her until Monday morning unless there was a fire. They also changed the tax rate I’d been quoted over the phone, then the afternoon man changed it again to the lower rate. And a winged roach crawled over my son’s headboard more than once. Thank goodness he killed them. PLEASE, PLEASE DON’T SKIP THIS REVIEW. Oct 2025. Look elsewhere!

DO NOT STAY HERE. There was actual mold in our room, which is absolutely disgusting and unacceptable. The sink wouldn’t drain, the AC smelled, and the bathroom fan didn’t work. That may be what caused the mold. We had a connecting room with six people in total, and all of us were exposed to this for two nights. Mold is a serious health hazard.
