Canad Inns Destination Centre Grand Forks

The waterpark kept my kids busy for hours, and the staff were all really nice. Our suite had plenty of room, and breakfast was included, though it was a very basic hotel spread with drinks brought out by staff. The changing and locker rooms were the rough part. They were dirty and sandy, the showers were so hot my kids didn't want to rinse off, and there weren't enough benches or cubbies for dry clothes.

The two-bedroom master suite worked well for our big group, and the kids loved their little bunk beds. Canadinns made traveling with a crew much easier. The rooms were neat, the hotel was spotless, and everyone was great with us. Breakfast was nice, service was great, and the Splasher was a lot of fun. We'd absolutely recommend staying here for a family trip.

For nearly $450 for two nights, this was a mess. Check-in stretched to the door with just one person at the desk, and breakfast had a huge line with a wait of over an hour, so we couldn't eat. The lobby looks dated, with dirty tables and garbage left around. On a Saturday night, Garbanzo pizza and the arcade were too busy to take any more orders. Half the games were broken anyway. The waterpark was gross and needs a deep clean: slimy green floors, chipped paint and flooring by the baby pool, and lots of broken fountains. There was nowhere good to leave our stuff, and hotel guests still had to pay extra for the big slide.

The stay itself had some good parts. My kids and I enjoyed the waterpark, had an amazing dinner in the Tavern, and the rooms included free breakfast, though we didn't care for it. The problem started after checkout. A few days later I saw they had charged my $100 room deposit instead of putting it on hold. When I called, they admitted it wasn't supposed to be charged and said they'd look into it. It's now been over two months, and every call about getting my money back turns into a runaround. They said it was escalated to corporate, but I haven't heard from corporate or gotten the money. Be careful and check your account after your stay. Other people with us also lost their deposits.
