We were extremely disappointed by the lack of cleanliness and security, and we won't return. From outside, the property looked run down and unkempt, though we hoped the room might at least be clean. Check-in took longer than it should have, apparently because they were short staffed. We then saw that the outside door locks were broken, so anyone could enter the hallways at any time. The room looked even more worn than the building. There were dirty spots on the carpet, hair on the bathroom floor and in the shower, peeling ceiling, odd stains on the walls, a broken shower curtain rod, and a ripped duvet. The window had no screen, and its small stopper didn't seem secure. There was hair all over the pillows and sheets, plus plastic in the sheets, which looked like they hadn't been changed after the last guests. I went to the front desk to ask about getting them changed, but no one was there. At 1:30am there was a strange knock at our door, and we didn't feel safe.

The staff were wonderful, and our room was clean, nice, and spacious. The pool was great and surprisingly warm. We faced the parking lot on the ground floor, so it was a little noisy. The real letdown was the so-called fitness room: it was full of broken equipment. It could've been well equipped if anything worked. Still, the price is great and I'd definitely come back.

We got a cheap room for the weekend, and since the pool wasn't available, the hotel was quiet. Our room was okay for sleeping, but I personally wouldn't book again until I knew it had been updated and cleaned. The room itself left me with mixed feelings. The bathroom seemed clean, the water pressure was phenomenal, the water was wonderfully hot, and the whirlpool worked and was clean. The bed was comfortable, but the bedspread was ripped in several places and the fitted sheet wouldn't stay on, so we had to remake the bed whenever we sat or rolled over. There were strange drips on the walls and some furniture that I tried not to think about. The adjoining door was broken near the lock, like someone had tried to force it open. The room was run down, but I think, or hope, it was clean. Before arriving, my boyfriend booked a whirlpool suite for my birthday weekend so we could go to the UND hockey games. A week before the trip I checked reviews and was horrified, but all other hotels were full, so we took a deep breath and checked in. Outside, the hotel doors were propped open because their locks were broken, letting anyone into the hallways. There were mounds of garbage frozen in the snowbanks and a massively full garbage can. Inside, a paper sign said the pool and hot tub had been closed since June 2018, nearly two years earlier. The front desk said they'd be updating "soon". Several times when leaving, we overheard staff conversations we probably shouldn't have. Housekeeping sat in a vacated room complaining about not getting paid enough to clean, and said multiple people had checked in and immediately left because of cleanliness.

I used to stay here 5 or 6 years ago, when it was one of the nicer hotels I knew. The outside used to be clean and well kept, the rooms were clean, the lighting was good, the staff friendly, and the breakfast great. I booked again about a week ago because a double room with 2 beds was only about $59. I couldn't believe how far they'd run the place into the ground. The room was horrible: there was mold or mildew above the shower, a moldy doughnut in the microwave, and almost no lighting. My friend found hairs all over his bed and ended up sleeping without blankets. They used to have a channel showing the hotel pool, which I find extremely creepy because anyone could watch it. Do they want people getting kidnapped? The staff weren't friendly either. At check-in the clerk seemed high, having just come in from smoking, and wasn't "with it" at all. The next morning, another clerk snapped at me when asking if I was checking out. The waffle irons smelled funny, and the bread and bagels were so dry you could tell just by looking. They've lost a loyal customer, and my friends who were loyal too.

This was my second stay, and I had a great time. The room was nicely made up, with a microwave and refrigerator. I enjoyed the pool and spa area, which looked recently renewed, and breakfast had a good variety. I enjoyed the stay overall and hope to come again.
