Rodeway Inn Grand Haven

I’m here for a while as I go through a divorce, and so far it’s been a great stay. It’s peaceful and quiet despite being right on the main road. The staff are friendly and professional.

A good, cheap place to stay for a couple of nights when I’m back in town. It’s right off the highway, and there’s pretty much anything you might need within a couple of blocks, so I didn’t have to drive into town for supplies. The room has a small workstation, fridge, microwave, and the other usual amenities. The smoking area is in the parking lot, which is fine since I only smoke ganj. Service gets a 3 from me because it’s mostly self service: no room service that I know of, and no maid service. Still, it’s a great location and a great option among the two star motels.

We got in around 11 p.m. or midnight after a 15-hour drive and were too exhausted to check the room before going to sleep. In the morning, we saw how dirty it was and packed up to stay elsewhere. There were mouse droppings in the bed, and the floors turned our feet black. The man working was very sweet and tried to make things right, but with the rooms being nonrefundable, he couldn’t do much. He said lots of people had complained about the poor room conditions. Hopefully they fired all the maids, because they definitely weren’t doing their jobs. I’m sorry to leave this review, but people should know how nasty the room was.

We had a great experience and will definitely be back. The rooms were nice and clean, the outside was well kept, and the staff were very friendly. You could tell the owners take pride in the place. For the price, it was the best room I’ve ever had.
