Spark by Hilton Grand Island

Coffee is available around the clock, and getting to the airport is easy since it’s only a few minutes away. Hampton Inn Grand Island was clean and comfortable, with a welcoming feel as soon as I arrived. A reliable, pleasant place to rest and recharge.

The room cost a lot for the condition it was in, and I’ve never been this disappointed with a Hilton property. The decor was dated, the walls were several shades of yellow, and there were water stains on the ceiling. I found hair in the bathroom sink, which clearly hadn’t been cleaned, and a nasty stain on the bedskirt. I’ll remember to Google a hotel before booking next time. Even the threshold between the hallway and the door was missing.

In Room 122, there was black mold in the bathroom, rust in the tub, and pink mold or mildew on the shower head. At check-in, there was only a little more than half a roll of toilet paper and no spare. I was there for work on a graveyard schedule, but people pressure washing the outside of the building made it hard to sleep. It’s frustrating to see the exterior being cleaned when there’s mold on the inside walls. My co-workers and I won’t be back.

The bed was comfortable, the HVAC worked well, and the young man at check-in was helpful and courteous. But this room needs a serious refresh. The wallpaper was peeling, a wall-mounted soap dispenser was gone with its mounting holes still visible, and the tub was stained and needs replacing. I’ve stayed here before and had a nicer room. They’re very dated, though it seems to depend on which one you get.
