Holiday Inn Express Grand Island - Niagara Falls by IHG

The rooftop bar was fun, and its staff were great. We stayed three nights with our family while visiting Niagara Falls, which was only a 10-minute drive away. The area felt safe, and the hotel and rooms were clean and comfortable. Breakfast was outstanding, maybe the best free hotel breakfast we’ve had. The room could’ve been brighter, and more than half the outlets didn’t work, making it a hassle to charge several devices. That’s why I’m giving four stars.

The rooms were clean and nice, and they were able to give us a late checkout. We’d forgotten an HDMI cable, but the gentleman at the front desk kindly found one and lent it to us for the night. He was so helpful and friendly. I wish I’d gotten his name so I could give him a proper shoutout. I’d highly recommend staying here.

We arrived late after booking through Priceline, only to find the room wasn’t what we’d ordered. The reservation was supposed to be for two queen beds and a sofa bed. Priceline said they’d sent the correct details, but the man at the front desk wouldn’t even look at my reservation and said he couldn’t make changes, that his computer showed what it showed. After more than an hour going back and forth between the desk and Priceline, we had to cancel and rebook as an IHG Platinum member for nearly $200 more. They did have the room type we’d reserved. I’ve never been treated so poorly at an IHG property and will probably avoid staying at another one if this is how they treat Platinum members.

Rooms were clean, and everyone on staff was friendly. Lauren was especially welcoming when we checked in. It’s a great place to stay, not far from Niagara Falls or downtown Buffalo. Definitely a good choice for out-of-state travelers.
