The price is amazing, and animals stay free. It has a very relaxed, laid-back feel, and Quinn at the front desk added to the good impression. I wish we’d found this place before booking elsewhere and, in my opinion, wasting money. There’s a peaceful feeling here. We haven’t even stayed a night yet, so this is only a first impression.

The bed was comfortable and we slept well, but that was the only real positive. We arrived around 8 PM and nobody was at the desk. We had to call the posted number several times during the evening to get help, and other guests were waiting too, even though it was a busy check-in period. Our first room had such a strong dog smell it was hard to breathe. I’m fine with pet-friendly hotels, but rooms need proper cleaning, especially when guests pay extra for pets. The second room was somewhat better, but had no toiletries, not even soap. It was also poorly maintained: the shower faucet leaked, the curtain was falling off, and the bathroom vent was loose. This place is overdue for renovation. There are plenty of better hotel options in Grand Junction, and we won’t return.

We stopped here on a Tuesday night before Thanksgiving while heading east. The room was spacious, mostly comfortable, and affordable; the shower got nice and hot. I hadn’t booked an accessible room, but that’s what we were given, which may explain the extra space. The check-in staff were nice. The shower had no barrier to the bathroom floor, and the curved curtain rod let water escape, flooding the floor and creating a real slip hazard. I mopped it with two towels before my accident-prone wife went in. I asked for shampoo, but was told the owners were no longer willing to provide it. There was lots of traffic noise, the smoke detector had been removed, and the beds felt lumpy and worn. No breakfast was available, and the Mexican restaurant was closed, so the hotel offered nothing in the morning. We won’t be back.

For the price, I’m happy with it. You get coffee, a microwave, a refrigerator, and updated rooms, while other hotels charge a lot more for breakfast and amenities. I’ve stayed twice. On one occasion I got a handicap room, apparently because of the price point, and rooms may be assigned to other parties. Shampoo is often provided elsewhere, but I bring what I need in my travel bag, so that wasn’t an issue. The shower’s little water-retaining bump is low on one end, so water can get out. That seems like an installation issue, not the hotel’s fault. The bed wasn’t perfect, but nothing severe; I’m not living there, and I got a good night’s sleep. I’m very happy, with nothing unexpected for the price, even if it isn’t first class.
