Residence Inn Grand Junction

The room was clean, comfortable, and well appointed, and everyone we met on the desk and kitchen staff was friendly, helpful, and professional. Great team. My concern is the $10 nightly parking charge for guests staying overnight. We were there for two nights and didn’t fly anywhere, yet were charged both nights. Parking should be charged for people leaving their cars while they fly away for several days, and only for the nights they’re not staying at the hotel. Marriott should handle this in a way that fits its classy reputation. The last time we stayed, I gave the hotel five stars across the board.

I usually enjoy staying here because the rooms are well supplied, and we each get our own room and, more importantly, our own bathroom with a bathtub. This time, there was almost no toilet paper and no spare roll, so I used the Kleenex. There were just enough tissues to last until I left. It was cold in the room, and they didn’t provide extra winter blankets. The thermostat wouldn’t go above 67, so I put my North Face jacket over the bedding until I warmed up, then used it as a pillow. The pillows were far too thick; a couch pillow was too hard. The light between the bedroom and bathroom worked unpredictably, sometimes switching on and sometimes staying off for about five minutes. Maybe it was just this location.

Katelyn at the front desk was professional and accommodating, and gave us lots of information about things to do in Vail. The room was comfortable, and the jacuzzi spa was incredible. We had an amazing stay and would definitely recommend it if you’re in the area.

Every outlet in the bedroom was dead, so the TV and lamps didn’t work, and we couldn’t charge a phone, watch anything, or use the computer. We called the front desk and were told, “I’ve never heard of that before,” and that maintenance wasn’t there. They basically said we were out of luck for the night. The whole bedroom had no power. Seriously, what?
