Lone Eagle Lodge

Room 11 was a lovely, well-kept two-bedroom, and the location is convenient, about five minutes from the entrance to Rocky Mountain National Park. Still, the air conditioning listed in the hotel's description wasn't in this room. I can't say whether other rooms have it. The first night was fine, but on the second it was too hot to sleep. Opening the window wasn't an option because it was smoky outside. The air freshener in the room also set off our allergies. The exposed bed frame led to several stubbed toes, and the shower head needs replacing because it sprays water all over. For anyone with a disability, note that most rooms have a step up at the entrance.

The rooms are on the small side, but clean and comfortable, and the beds were great. Staff were warm, welcoming, and quick to respond when we needed something. You can walk to everything in town, and the park is close by. We were only there for one night and enjoyed it. It was extremely hot the night we stayed, so the lack of built-in air conditioning was disappointing. There were two portable fans in our room, and staff offered a portable AC unit, which worked perfectly. I'd also recommend the food truck in the parking lot.

The rooms were quiet, the staff pleasant, and we thought it was the best value for the money. It has fewer amenities than the Gateway Inn, where we usually stay, but it's closer to the main street. The taco truck was there until midnight, which we enjoyed.

The rooms were clean, but nothing special. Our room was only 57 degrees when we got there. Brr. It eventually warmed up to a comfortable temperature. If all you need is somewhere to sleep and shower, this will do.
