Spruceglen Inn

From the beach just across the street, we caught some beautiful sunsets. Room 10 was freshly renovated and very clean, with a lovely bathroom, a comfortable bed, and a handy little fridge. The location was just right.

Room 11 had been newly remodeled, and it was clean with comfy beds. We could walk to everything. We also met the owners while they were working on the room next door. We’d happily stay here again!

Lake Superior looked incredible from our room, and we were right near the bars, restaurants, and shops. My husband and I spent one night in first-floor Room 7. It was spotless and updated, with a quiet atmosphere and a very comfortable bed and pillows. Self check-in was easy, too. I’m not sure why others complain so much; we had a great stay. Thanks!

Being close to town seems to be the main thing you’re paying for. In Room #12, the bathroom had black mold, and my husband is allergic to it. I called the next morning to tell the manager, who kindly refunded us. There were other problems too: some outlets didn’t work, the lighting was sparse, and the vanity light was completely out. The carpet had brown stains, communication was poor, and the beds were rock hard. They were full beds, despite being described as queens. We’d also been promised a microwave in the room, but there wasn’t one. The mini fridge was tiny.
