The staff worked so hard to keep things clean. The girls’ bathrooms in the pool area were really clean, and a gentleman kept cleaning the main lobby quickly and efficiently. I’ve never seen staff work that hard. Our kids beg to come here as often as possible. For us, it makes a perfect three-day weekend with kids around 4-14. This visit, the younger two loved the arcade, the older two had a great time questing, and we all had so much fun at the water park.
The water park works in any season and weather, and you don’t need sunscreen. There are lots of food options, and our kids have made great memories here. They had a great time on our visits, but our 14-year-old has now officially aged out. I’d say it’s best for younger kids, maybe ages 2-12. The downside is that we’ve gotten sick after every visit, so watch out for germs. It also feels like we’re nickle and dimed by all the extras that add up, including daily parking even though the area isn’t crowded, and paying for the wand as well as activating it.
We had four adults and six kids ages 4-17, and spent Sunday and Monday, the 1st of Feb, at Greatwolf Lodge. This was my second Greatwolf Lodge experience, and it wasn’t as nice as the other one. The place was so crowded that the elevator wait topped 30 minutes. The elevators were slow, the lines were awful, and MagiQuest runs across four floors, so we used the stairs about 75% of the time. The parking lot was packed too. The water park had two large group slides, with group weight limits of 600lbs on the spiral tornado and 800lbs on the other one, plus two innertube type slides. There was a kids’ play structure with two mini slides, a toddler spalsh area, a wave pool, a play pool with basketball hoops and a couple of play floats, and a hot tub split between indoors and outdoors. Being outside in winter in the hot tub was lovely 😍, but it and the rest of the water park were uncomfortably crowded for most of our two days. Food wasn’t worth the price either: $5 for a small fries about the size of McDonalds small, and $8 for a corndog. Discounts were available with the add-on passes, such as a build a bear for $7 with a pass versus $25 without, but the pass costs $70+ per person. I wouldn’t pay full price for a family vacation here. With a good deal, maybe 50% off or so, I’d consider it.
The room was spacious and comfortable, a nice place to wind down after a full day swimming. The food options were solid, and the kids stayed busy outside the water park too, especially with the arcade and nightly story time. Even when it was busy, everything felt clean, organized, and well run. The water park has tons of slides, a huge wave pool, and safe places for younger kids to play. From check-in onward, the staff were welcoming, upbeat, and clearly focused on helping our family have a great time. Great Wolf Lodge gave us an outstanding, stress-free stay. We’ll absolutely be back!
There wasn’t much food variety, and more options would be appreciated. More staff around the lodge would also help new guests who feel lost. I missed that kind of guidance. Our room was dark and not very clean, especially around the bunk bed. Better lighting might have changed the impression. Self check-in only got us into the room, and the person there was rude and didn’t help with the package we had bought. We had to line up again for the pass we’d purchased online. The check-in system needs attention.
