Candlewood Suites Grand Prairie - Arlington by IHG

The room was quiet, with a comfortable bed and pillows, a clean bathroom, plenty of hot water, and good pressure. The kitchenette and full fridge are especially handy for a stay longer than a week. Staff were friendly, helpful, and accommodating, and Amanda was super awesome. I stayed a week at another nearby hotel, and the difference in hospitality was night and day. The building is older but very well kept, with clean, bright hallways. The gym is clean, and laundry is free. Parking is a decent size, though it fills up at night. The area feels safe and clean. There’s an auto repair shop next door in the same plaza if you need a quick oil change, and you can walk to Texas Roadhouse. Walmart and a gas station are conveniently close.

We didn’t have to go more than two or three miles for anything we needed or wanted, and we’ll definitely stay here again. The room was amazing: full-size fridge, little sink, two-burner stovetop, microwave, and dishwasher. It also came stocked with pots, pans, dishes, and silverware. Honestly, the kitchen was better equipped than mine at home.

The people here were the best part of our visit. Everyone was so helpful and nice, and Amanda and Georgie (not sure of the spelling, sorry) were the BEST. We were visiting family with a toddler, so the central location worked perfectly. The price was just right, especially for a room with a kitchenette. Everything was clean and well kept. We’ll make this our home base for DFW visits.

The room met the brand standards I expect from IHG, whether I’m staying at a Holiday Inn Express or Candlewood Suites. The staff are what set this one apart. George checked me in quickly and efficiently, and was friendly with a tired traveler. The next morning I had a brief but very pleasant chat with Amanda, the location GM, who was at the desk as I left. I found out she’s from my home state, NC. I’ve stayed at quite a few IHG properties, and this one gets 10/10 from me. Highly recommend it.
