Service was friendly, and the staff worked hard. The hotel was clean and nice, and the location is amazing if you smoke Marijuana: Lume, a fantastic dispensary with killer deals, is less than 75 yards from the south exit. They have a designated smoking area out back, for cigarettes, surly 😉. The pool area didn’t have enough towels, though you could bring your own if you really wanted to, and there’s no hot tub. Still, all in all a great choice 👌 especially if you smoke Marijuana.

When we returned to the hotel, we found our belongings had been removed from the room without permission and carelessly put into our bags, with shoes on top of dress clothes. A staff member had booked us into a room after looking at my ID, but it turned out to be someone else’s room. Some personal items were left behind, making an already frustrating situation worse. The way it was handled showed a lack of awareness and respect for our property. Angela and Samantha apologized, which I appreciated, and replaced one item. They didn’t get much help from their manager. We were told they’d try to return some Hilton points and arrange a free room for the next night. When we followed up the next day, the manager hadn’t approved that, and they said they’d instead get us a one-night voucher. That never came either. It didn’t show much regard for customer service. We hope the hotel improves its communication, room management, and handling of guests’ belongings so this doesn’t happen to anyone else. We were extremely disappointed.

The lobby was a cute place to spend time with family who were also in Grand Rapids for the holiday, and we loved the breakfast, with lots of delicious options. Our breakfast attendant Gina was exceptionally kind and helpful. The whole family loved her. Our room at Home 2 Suites Grand Rapids Northeast was clean and comfortable, and the front desk was always friendly and ready to help. I also appreciated the messages from management checking that we were having a nice stay. Thank you, Home2Suites GR NE!

The electric vehicle charger rates on site are ridiculously expensive, the highest I’ve seen. They say they didn’t set the price, but the Chargepoint app very clearly says the rate was set by the hotel. It’s a shame to charge people who are already paying a decent room price such an exorbitant amount to charge their car. The place is new and in great condition, clean and nice inside, with a pool, small gym, and polite, helpful front desk staff. I’ve stayed about 12 times in the last six months for work, and I’ll keep staying as long as I’m working nearby. Fit and finish varies a lot between rooms: one dishwasher wasn’t secured, another room’s sink wouldn’t plug and hold water, and shower doors stuck and were hard to move in several rooms. It can also get pricey during busy times.
