Super Motel Granite Falls

We were quoted one amount for the week and wound up paying more. While we were out, someone went into our room and things were taken; more items were also taken from the car. The smoking rooms were nice, though not very clean, and I wouldn’t trust the cleaning staff or leave valuables in the rooms. For three nights in a row, people sat in cars hanging around the parking lot.

We were stuck here on New Year’s Eve because there was nowhere else to go, and I’m still waiting for a full refund that I doubt I’ll ever get. We had two rooms. Room 149 still had rubbish from the previous guests in the trash can, while Room 147 had moldy food in the fridge and dirty towels hanging behind the bathroom door. Dead Asian beetles were everywhere. The carpets were filthy, and the bed’s top blankets were stained. There was no breakfast food, and after waiting ten minutes at the desk, nobody came. I’ve never stayed in a motel this dirty. I hope we didn’t bring bed bugs home, and I’m looking into whether health inspectors deal with places this filthy.

Dead and live ladybugs were scattered around the room in the middle of winter, and the tub was full of dust and dirt. It looked like nobody had cleaned the place since summer. I’ve stayed in plenty of motels, but this was the most disgusting one. We were too worried about bed bugs to sleep under the bedding. I can’t believe anyone thinks this is acceptable. Do not stay here.

The restaurant’s been turned into a funeral home, which tells you something. The motel was nothing like I expected, with no updates since before 1970. The carpet looked like it had never been cleaned, and there might have been a blood stain on it. At least we only had to stay one night.
