Hampton Inn & Suites Grants Pass

The complimentary breakfast was a huge hit with my children. They said it was the best hotel breakfast they'd ever had, and we all found our stay very pleasant. Our room was clean and a decent size, with a tub where I could unwind after the long drive. The amenities worked well for the kids and were easy to get to. Finding the hotel downtown was a little confusing, but we made it, and the staff on duty when we arrived at night were wonderful.

Breakfast had plenty of choices, stayed clean and fresh, and the attendant kept everything stocked. The coffee was hot, too. We were in room #442, which was clean, comfortable, and newly remodeled, with lots of towels and clean, fluffy down pillows that weren't yellowish. Even though the hotel is right by the freeway, our room was quiet with no road noise, and getting on and off the freeway was easy. The front desk staff were friendly and attentive when we arrived late. It's so convenient, especially with an In-N-Out next door. We'll keep choosing this location when we're heading south on i5.

This is the only good hotel in this area of grants Pass, and the staff are great, so I really hope they get things sorted out. I was back in January 2025 in the same room, and the broken items I reported still hadn't been fixed almost a year later. The outlets under the TV in room 102 had been out for a year. The rooms aren't awful and they're clean, but I hope the renovation mentioned on the Hampton site includes fixing things like that. The TV also needs an upgrade. It uses an old DIRECTV setup instead of the usual Hampton Inn TV system. They used to let guests charge EVs for free, but now it's $10 per charge. The Clipper Creek units don't have a payment system, so you have to go to the front desk and sort it out instead of simply plugging in. ChargePoint, blink, or Tesla chargers would still collect payment but would be easier to use. Clipper creeks make more sense where charging is free, and I'd love to see it go back to being complimentary. Free charging was the reason I kept coming here.

The service people were very nice, and breakfast was good, but the pillows were terribly flat. The hotel is conveniently just off the freeway, far enough away that we didn't hear traffic. Being right next to In-N-Out was fun. One thing I didn't like was Fox "news" playing in the breakfast area. I'd rather have something pleasant on or nothing at all.
