Our room at the recently renovated Spruce Lodge was quiet and comfortable, and the bed had a soft mattress with a topper. We also had fresh linens and towels, updated bathroom fixtures, strong hot water and heat, a mini fridge, coffee maker, and good WiFi. We stayed May 21-24, 2026 and enjoyed it. The other amenities were there, but we were busy and didn't use them. Self check-in was easy, and the owners or manager answered the phone promptly. We'd recommend Spruce Lodge for a stay in the South Fork area.

After canceling our other room rental, we booked Spruce Lodge online and drove another five hours to get there. Finding it in the dark was easy, and our room key was waiting for us. The place was so clean and welcoming. Thank you, Spuce Lodge! A friendly mule deer greeted us when we arrived.

We were in Southern Colorado last week for a ski trip to Wolf Creek ski mountain and stayed at Spruce Lodge. Great staff, a great bed and room, and a perfect location. We'll definitely come back.

The price was reasonable, and the amenities seemed good for a town like South Fork. Staff were nice and kept in touch effectively by text. Our room was clean and the mountain view and location were good, too. The main drawbacks were that the centralized AC only provided heat and the shower area felt cramped. They kindly brought us a large table fan, though it still felt too warm in the early evenings during July.

We felt at home as a family and were comfortable and happy the whole time. The rooms are modern and well kept, and the beds are incredibly comfortable. For what we paid, the value was fantastic. South Fork is small, but the lodge is close to everything. The staff were friendly and helpful, and the service went beyond what we expected. Already looking forward to coming back.
