The difference in how Kathy treated us and the white guests was hard to miss. My dad was at the waffle machine when she came over with an attitude, asking whether he had used the tongs and reminding him to put them back. He hadn’t used them. Later, a white man came for food and got a bright “good morning!” We’d had no warm greeting from her. The only other exchange was when I asked where the water was, and she told my dad to clean up after himself. At first I thought she might just be having a rough morning, but then I saw her welcome that other white man. My family of five, who are Korean, felt disgusted and uncomfortable at the Comfort hotel. As a person of color, I felt clearly unwelcome.

I couldn't decide between two and three stars, so I gave them the benefit of the doubt. The bed was comfortable, and the outside of this 70s-built hotel looks nice, but the rooms seem like they haven't been renovated in a long time. Breakfast was poor to fair. The pancake mix and machine turned out gross pancakes that still looked raw after cooking. The coffeemaker in the bathroom was strange, and one elevator for four floors is ridiculous. We'd booked it for our return trip, then canceled and booked somewhere else.

The hotel was in good shape and breakfast was good. The heater motor wasn't working right, though, and its filter screen was dirty.

The staff went above and beyond, and we had so much fun. The indoor pool was nice, and breakfast was set up in a cute way with lots of choices. 💜

The room was okay, though I spotted a few stains under the sheets and on the chair. I don't want to know what they were. The front desk clerk was nice, and breakfast was great. I wasn't into the pool area since the water looked dark and cold. And the coffeemaker in the bathroom wasn't for me, but to each their own. I'm just here to annotate. Thanks. Bye.
