Holiday Inn Harrisburg - Hershey Area, I-81 by IHG

The hotel is older, though many of the rooms have been renovated, and everything was clean and well maintained. We were there for the weekend with a big group of kids, and the staff were friendly and accommodating despite the noise and mess. The kids were happy and the stay went smoothly. Stephanie, the GM, and her team were amazing, always available, patient, and helpful. I’d highly recommend staying here.

I had a good experience at the Hollyday inn today. In the evening I stopped by the restaurant bar, where the food and service were high quality. The rooms have been totally renovated, and I slept like a king. Breakfast was good too, with homemade items. I recommend it.

The staff were very friendly, and I wasn’t disturbed by loud noises during my stay, which was nice. The location was fine, though there’s not much within walking distance besides a gas station. I was here for an Air Force drill weekend, but the stay didn’t meet expectations. As soon as I entered the room, a strong foul odor hit me, even though nothing looked out of place. There was no toothpaste in the bathroom or in the little shop in the main lobby. After a long day, that was inconvenient, and a very small mouthwash cost $3. The pipes made a loud, struggling noise when I turned on the shower, as if they were having trouble producing hot water. Housekeeping also threw out my shower cap, which I’d put in a grocery bag to take home. That was frustrating because it wasn’t trash.

The renovated room was really nice and clean, and I had a great stay. Wi-Fi was the only problem. I needed internet for a video meeting on my computer, but couldn’t get online through the hotel Wi-Fi. I had to use my phone instead, which wasn’t a good way to join a professional meeting.
