We’ve stayed at the Porch House before, several years ago, for a lovely overnight escape. It worked well as a home base for our packed schedule, since we’re not especially social when staying at a B&B. We still made time for the delicious breakfast and enjoyed briefly meeting the other guests before heading out. The location is handy for bike rides, right by the trail access, or for walking into town for dinner. Most things are under two blocks away, with Denison events a little farther. Highly recommend.

A quiet village street, trees all around, and just a five-minute walk to the center. The Porch House has a sweet farmhouse feel, a bit like Norman Rockwell, with three roomy bedrooms and three nicely appointed full bathrooms. The kitchen is modern, the wifi is great, and there are tons of TV channels. Our hosts were kind and accommodating. We had a delightful stay, and just so you know, it’s no longer a B&B.

The nicest part of our stay was the gentleman living in the house. He wasn’t the owner, but he was kind. The queen bed was comfortable, though the window shades let in all the morning light. There was no breakfast, and without a tub stopper we couldn’t take a bath. In the bedroom, one table lamp had nowhere to plug in, there were only four outlets, and just one bulb worked in the bathroom fixture. I wouldn’t recommend this place to anyone.
