Granville Inn

The town and the space are beautiful, but the meal and service were extremely disappointing. We waited 15 minutes to be seated in an empty restaurant, then our waitress spent 25 minutes talking with another table. The warm raisin bread appetizer arrived cold and dry. When we said so, she snapped, “well, I like it.” Another 35 minutes passed before our food came. My mahi sandwich was swimming in aioli, and my tablemate, who’s a chef, couldn’t eat the oily hollandaise on the Eggs Benedict. We sent it back and ordered eggs, bacon, and toast instead, but both the bacon and toast were burnt.

We were there on business, and the Granville Inn also turned out to be an ideal setting for a small wedding. Our group of just under 80 had the ceremony outside in the courtyard, cocktails in the Carriage House, then the reception in the ballroom, with space for a bar and dessert buffet. It flowed well for guests. The staff were hospitable, kind, and helpful from start to finish. We loved the cozy feel of the historic hotel and the quaint town, the warm decor, comfortable beds, coffee stations on every floor, and the included continental breakfast. Dinner was fabulous too. I loved the salmon and every bite, and the cinnamon hints in the espresso martini were perfect. We can’t wait to return, whether for a relaxing stay or an intimate wedding. Highly recommend.

We had a fantastic experience hosting our wedding at the Granville Inn. The planning process was straightforward: they were clear about costs, came up with solutions, and answered our questions. The wedding day went smoothly, with professional staff, delicious food, and easy setup and cleanup. The Inn is gorgeous enough that you can keep decorations simple and still have a magical day. If you work with Brian, the Inn manager, you’re in for a treat. We highly recommend it for a wedding, a meal, or a lovely weekend away.

The neighborhood is beautiful, walkable, and has plenty of shops. We didn’t eat at the restaurant, but the bar was very nice. The building and room were lovely, the bed was comfortable, and there was plenty of hot water and good pressure. Front desk staff were wonderful and welcoming. Breakfast was well made and high quality, though the choices were limited to breakfast breads and oatmeal. The only other small drawback was the toilet squeezed into an uncomfortable little space between the sink and shower.
