Gold Miners Inn Grass Valley, an Ascend Collection Hotel

This was an ADA room for my disabled husband, but several parts of the design felt unsafe. The beds were on wheels and unstable, so he couldn’t steady himself while getting in. He nearly fell, and I had to be right beside him. The shower seat also looked so poorly designed that sitting on it might have sent him crashing into the tub. Shampoo and the other products were at the far end, which could’ve made him slip off the chair. He still had to step over the tub to get in. Ridiculous for an accessible room. On the second day we put the do not disturb sign out and left at 10am. There was already a note saying we’d left too late for service, though they’d try later. They never came back. I had to get toilet paper downstairs, and a clerk brought trash bags and took our trash out. No maid ever serviced the room. The staff otherwise provided great service.

We showed up without a reservation, but the friendly front desk found us a room and made us feel special. The bed was very comfy, the cocktails were nice, and we’re looking forward to breakfast in the morning. Great location, highly recommend.

My suite was huge, with a comfortable bed and spacious bathrooms. The front desk was polite and professional, and Grass Valley’s best restaurants were within walking distance. A great spot for a romantic stay. Love this place.

Gold Miners Inn made traveling with our furry friend easy. There’s a pet fee, but it’s pet-friendly. The front desk staff were welcoming, and each morning we had a hot breakfast with eggs, sausage, bacon, coffee, juice, and bread. Plenty to get the day started. We also enjoyed the 5-7 PM happy hour and its two complimentary drinks. We had beer and margaritas, just right after a long day. The promenade and restaurants are walkable, and we had dinner at The Thirsty Barrel, which we’d recommend. A fantastic stay.
