Grass Valley Courtyard Suites

Courtyard Suites is locally owned, not part of a conglomerate, and the property is beautiful, almost like a residential condo area. There are lots of individual units, all set up differently, some single story and others two story. The mature landscaping is very well maintained, and every woman we dealt with was pleasant and helpful. They include continental breakfast and wine and hors d’oeuvres in the evening. A girlfriend and I spent one night and two days in Grass Valley, enjoying restaurants and shopping. It’s an easy drive to Auburn and Nevada City, and we’re already talking about coming back for a few days. I highly recommend it. Hotel showers are usually hard to adjust and have weak flow, but theirs was perfect. I think the showerhead was better than the one at home.

We try to come here once a year for my birthday in January, and it’s one of my favorite places to stay in Grass valley. The grounds are always beautifully kept, and I feel comfortable parking at the property. They can always accommodate our dog when we travel with her. We love getting a room with a soaking tub and fireplace. There’s wine and concessions in the evenings, plus a delicious complimentary waffle and omelette breakfast. Can’t wait to come back in January.

The room was cozy and comfortable, with all the amenities, and better than some big chains we’ve stayed at around the country. The woman at the front desk was very nice and made sure we’d have a fantastic stay. As far as the accommodations go, absolutely wonderful. The neighbors were another matter. They yelled, laughed, slammed doors, and carried on until all hours. It sounded like at least 20 people. My wife complained at the desk and was told staff couldn’t say anything until 22:00 hrs. The noise did quiet down around 22:00 hrs, so someone must have spoken to them. But at 22:30 it got ungodly loud again, and I ended up putting cotton balls in my ears in bed. We have one more night here and hope it won’t happen again.

Nearly perfect. The room was very nice, breakfast wonderful, and the location great. They even provide free laundry detergent! A strange interaction with a newer night staff member cost it a star, but otherwise it was amazing. Happy to explain to the owner if they’d like to know.
