I usually come for Bluegrass Festival and Christmas, and downtown is just down the road, with restaurants, candy shops, and other shops. The place feels quaint but has modern touches. There’s a gazebo with soft music and a fire outside, plus a hammock to swing in before a warm shower and a night in the king bed watching the big-screen TV. You can really see the love and care in the rooms and around the grounds. I love it here and recommend it to everyone.

The cabin itself was good quality, and Tony clearly takes care of the grounds. The donuts were generous, too. Still, Tony saying he doesn't like firefighters really put me off, especially since we were staying there after a pretty big house fire. I grew up in NY, where firefighters are highly respected, and after 9/11 I saw many friends lose their firefighter fathers to mesothelioma or in the towers. I felt it was best to ignore the comment, but it stuck with me and made me uncomfortable. We enjoyed Tony and Ty's company at times, and in many ways they were generous, conscientious hosts. But there were moments of unpredictable hostility and defensiveness, and Tony can make snide or rude little remarks without addressing what's behind them. That may not matter much for a stay of a few days, but I'd consider it for a longer one. The place was very nice in some ways, though it could get a little loud, and the quality depended on which room you got.

We were comfortable, and the little details felt thoughtful, from the sheets, robes, and slippers to the appliances and coffee. It's a wonderful property close to shops and restaurants. Thanks, Tony.

The bed was comfortable and the unit had everything we needed. It's a little out of town, but downtown GV is an easy walk. We loved staying here and were sorry we hadn't found it on earlier trips to Grass Valley. We'll definitely come back.

The owner is friendly and the property is kept up really well. We felt comfortable there, and it's a nice place. It can get a bit loud, though, and we weren't crazy about my husband finding that the room was bugged.
